Municipal police
Municipal Police only operate in cities or towns. There are currently three jurisdictions that are covered by various municipalities. They are; Paleto Bay, Los Santos, and Sandy Shores. These officers only have jurisdiction in their municipality, for example; A Paleto Bay officer may not arrest a subject in Grapeseed.

Sheriff's office
Sheriff's Deputies only operate in uncoordinated parts of the county, or parts of the county that do not provide their own policing service. There are two jurisdictions that are covered by the Sheriff's Office. They are; Blaine County and Los Santos County. These officers only have jurisdiction in the county, for example; A Los Santos Sheriff Office deputy may not arrest a subject in Blaine County. Sheriffs may only enter cities in the event that they are in need of additional units.
Highway patrol
The state Highway Patrol only operate on the states highways, freeways, and interstates. Highway Patrolmen are not bound by a county or municipality; Instead they patrol areas of highway, freeway, or interstate, for example; A Highway Patrolman may not conduct a traffic stop on a side road, however he or she may be called to help in a pursuit or follow a suspect off of the states highways. In a pursuit Highway Patrolmen always have jurisdiction.
sTATE BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION
The State Bureau of Investigation have jurisdiction in all areas that fall within San Andreas's borders. These officers do not patrol San Andreas. The SBI is called only in a high risk situation or investigation, for example; An SBI investigation team may be called to investigate a homicide. In cases that involve Municipal Police or the Sheriff's Office the SBI will always be called to investigate.
